Institute of Tumor Diseases

The Institute of Tumor Diseases serves as a research base for investigating the pathogenesistranslational studies of tumor diseases at our hospital, as well as a supporting platform for the Hunan Provincial Key Laboratory of Tumor CellMolecular Pathology.

Core Functions:

(i) Study the laws of tumor diseases, explore their etiology, pathogenesis, targeted drug therapies.

(ii) Provide comprehensive technical support for oncology-related research, interdisciplinary collaboration, postgraduate training within the hospital.

(iii) Enhance the development of tumor research platforms, specimen banks, databases.

(iv) As a comprehensive research hub in oncology, actively promote interdisciplinary studiesfacilitate clinical transformation.

In recent years, the oncology research team has achieved a series of groundbreaking findings in the pathogenesis of tumorigenesisprogression, as well as targeted therapies for malignancies such as breast cancer, liver cancer, thyroid cancercolorectal cancer. The team has led over 20 provincialministerial-level research projects, including seven National Natural Science Foundation projects, published more than 40 SCI-indexed papers in leading international journals as the firstcorresponding authors. Their accomplishments have been recognized with awards such as the Second Prize of Hunan Provincial ScienceTechnology Progress Award, Second Prize of Hunan Provincial Natural Science Award,First Prize of Hunan Medical ScienceTechnology Award.

The Institute will focus on:

i. Research on tumor etiologyprevention, providing scientific data for the prevention of common cancers.

ii. Applied basic research on early warningdiagnosis, aiming to achieve early diagnosis of tumors.

iii. Appliedfundamental research on novel technologiesmethods for tumor diagnosistreatment.

The Institute aims to build an excellent clinical medical research center that integrates medical care, education, research, prevention, advances comprehensive basictranslational tumor-related research.
